The Belgium forward has beaten the likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez to the honour
Manchester United have revealed which of their players was the fastest during the 2017/18 season.
And it is a player you wouldn’t expect.
Despite the Red Devils having the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez on their books, Romelu Lukaky was clocked at an impressive 34.84km per hour to make him United’s fastest player throughout the campaign.
This leg-stretching sprint came in February’s defeat of Chelsea at Old Trafford, when Lukaku wowed the crowds with a run in the dying stages that saw the Belgium international outpace THREE Blues defenders.
For such a powerful and strongly-built play, it is a surprise Lukaku can reach such speeds, and his run against Chelsea recalled memories of Adriano.
The former Brazil striker was the perfect combination of pace and power before his career went off the rails, and it is no surprise that Lukaku has previously revealed that the ex-Parma and Inter Milan striker was a childhood idol of his.
